Originally trained as a biomedical research scientist, Dr. Linda Landon earned a PhD in molecular pharmacology and worked in a laboratory for 15 years. She wore a lab coat and had close personal relationships with test tubes and pipettes. She published papers with titles like “Combinatorial Discovery of Tumor Targeting Peptides Using Phage Display.” Then, the unexpected occurred: she became allergic to mice and could no longer work in labs.

Not to let an allergy stop her, Dr. Landon continues to be driven by research—of all kinds. For her, research is like breathing. She learns something new every day and nothing beats the feeling of analyzing data to identify solutions to problems and ways to improve. Thus, her love of research led her to create Velocity DataTech.

With Velocity DataTech, Dr. Landon is able to offer her rare qualifications as a full-stack data scientist and researcher to help businesses, banks and organizations achieve efficiency, effectiveness and gain a competitive advantage. Founded by Dr. Chris Engelhardt

Co-Founder and Chief Data Scientist

Dr. Chris Engelhardt is the Co-CEO and Chief Data Scientist of Velocity DataTech. Dr. Engelhardt is uniquely qualified for these positions. As the lead data scientist at CARFAX, he expertly applied data science to solve business problems and add value. Dr. Engelhardt exhibits the rare blend of technical, business and communication skills that is necessary in a lead data scientist whose responsibilities include originating and leading successful data science teams. In addition to his core high-level data science experience and skills of computer science, software engineering, data visualization, research, and statistics, Dr Engelhardt demonstrates capacity for teamwork, top-level communication skills, and domain-specific knowledge.

Dr. Engelhardt has 12+ years of experience in research design and advanced quantitative methods. He builds and maintains modern analytics infrastructures and data science-as-a-service platforms. He delivers in-person corporate data science trainings. He holds a Ph.D. in Social/Personality Psychology from the University of Missouri, with a concentration in statistics and research methodology. His open science research on violent video games and aggression-related outcomes in adults with and without autism spectrum disorder has been published in a top experimental psychology journal.
